Cranial sacral therapy is a mild and gentle based on a theory called “primary respiration.” During this primary respiration, each bone and tissue expand and retract in slow rhythmical motions (attributed to cerebral spinal fluid). This technique helps release dural tensions which are deep in the body, and can help improve health and performance.
Using very soft touch to the skull, face, spine and pelvis, these bony structures surround the central nervous system which is often associated with pain and dysfunction.
Cranium and the sacrum refer to the top and bottom of the spine. Although this field is controversial in mainstream medicine, clinically, it is important to “look under every stone” especially when symptoms keep reoccurring over time.
